If you shop for food, you know the cost to day is very high. Especially live food. A small bag of citrus can cost you $7.00 or $8,00. A pound for grapes can cost over $3.00. organic romaine lettuce can be over $4.00.
And yet at a fast food resturant, you can have a full meal for around $3.00,
What is wrong here?
The reason that fast food is so cheep is because corn and soy are the major ingredients. Soy and corn are subsidized by our government and the food manufacturers buy corn and soy for a lot less than it costs the farms to grow these foods. Then they make fake foods out of these mostly GMO Crops. Lots of high fructose corn syrup, is put in everything from soda, to "milk" shake, to bread - hamburger bun, to there secret sauces on the burger, in the breading on the shrimp and on around the chicken nuggets. Then there is the Soy which is about as ubiquitous as the corn.
Health subsidies for healthy foods like vegetables and fruit are not there. You can't get healthy eating all of the GMO so called foods that are a little like rat poison. Mostly low nutrition food with a touch of weed killer to destroy your health, make you unable to have children, and die early from cancers and other diseases like diabetes. So get personal responsibility and demand congerss change this around and stop eating the "Crap" you are feed by the "system". Let's change it. Stop the subsidy dollars that are pushed into corn and soy.
Like sheep being led to the slaughter. Each day, 50 million Americans eat at a fast food restaurants and the rest of us eat from the grocery store and other restaurants.
This is a slow, sickly death of cancers, heart disease and diabetes and of starvation because of the lack of nutrition.
Note: Obesity comes the chemicals in the food - MSG & the lack of nutrition. MSG makes you fat and hungry & the lack of nutrition keeps you needing to eat more.
You say that you can't afford it? How much do you or will you spend on the doctor? How much missed work? How much more work to pay for the doctor? How much less to spend on your family because of sickness?
