Gingivitis - What can be done about it

MMF - has nutrients needed by the body to be able to deal with gingivitis.  Vitamin C, Vitamin D,  CoQ10 , and other antioxidants. (see # 3).
1. Gingivitis can cause serious health problems:
  • Developing into gum disease ravaging surrounding mouth tissue and bone.
  • Advanced condition,  periodontitis can often cause a loss of teeth
  • Heart attacK
  • Lung disease
  • Stroke
  • premature births
  • low birth-weight babies.

2.  Symptoms:  You probably have gingivitis if:
  • Gums have become puffy and soft or changed to a deeper color
  • Gums that bleed easily,
  • A film covering mouth tissues,
  • Bad breath and receding gums.
  • Often, pink toothbrush bristles are a telltale sign.
3.  Natural remedies for gingivitis:
  •  Brush regularly with a high-quality toothpaste, essential oil or sea salt solution
  •  Visit a holistically-oriented dentist – on a regular basis.
  • Coconut oil swished in the mouth for about 15 minutes after brushing reduces bacteria. Note: spit into the toilet, not the sink, as that can plug the sink.
  • Vitamin C can both prevent and reverse gum disease.  100 mg a day of the vitamin  showed marked improvement in gum health after just six weeks in a study.
  • Vitamin D metabolite:  People exhibiting the highest blood levels were less likely to show signs of gingivitis.   Vitamin D has anti-inflammatory effects to help to decreases susceptibility to gum disease
  •  CoQ10  as an antioxidant in preventing periodontal disease. 100 mg per day of CoQ10 can slow advancement and may reverse gum disease.
  •  Pomegranate solution as a mouth wash. Pomegranate is an antioxidant - improves dental health.  Attacks bacteria, interfering with production of chemicals that bacteria use.
4. Probiotics:
  • Probiotics improve the environment of the mouth include: Salivarius probiotic and Bacillus coagulans.
